TWiki Extension Bug Tracking

Proposed:

• Create a bug tracker for TWiki extensions (Add-ons, Contribs, Plugins, Skins)
• This topic has a form to submit new bugs
• Bug topics have a generic name and are auto-numbered, e.g. TWikiExtensionBug00001, TWikiExtensionBug00002 etc (similar to ChangeRequest application)
• Bugs have state topics: TWikiExtensionBug (aka open), TWikiExtensionBugAssigned, TWikiExtensionBugResolved, TWikiExtensionBugDuplicate, TWikiExtensionBugRejected
  • Each bug state topic has a filer to list bugs for one particular extension
  • The list of open bugs can optionally be shown also in the dev topics
• Dev topics can offer a submit bug link that points to this topic, with the name of the extension already prefilled

Discussions

The dev topics of extensions are currently used to report issues. More complex extensions such as CommentPlugin, XpTrackerPlugin and PatternSkin would benefit from a bug tracker.

Anyone interested in realizing this?

So that releases can also schedule changes to TWikiExtensions the template topic for this will need to use the same form as Features/Bugs. Which will mean adopting the ProposedNewFormsInCodev once the spec has been finalised and we have everything we need in place to implement it.

I'm willing to take this on as part of ProposedNewFormsInCodev.
