Question
Asking for certain feature before I decide to use TWiki for my team.
Hi all,
I am currently constructing a intranet for my team(around 10 ~ 15 ppl) and I am considering using Twiki. What I need is a knowledge-base-like platform ( I am certain Twiki can do that), search engine included, file attachment, and third party program supported ( like when one of my teammate wants to get data from a database and generate a graph using a 3rd party software, Twiki can allow him do so), and finally user Authentication ( i am talking attaching file and posting text with the user permission set by the user, not the administrator. This can allow the maximum freedom and flexibility in the intranet. So this may be the most important feature I am looking for). So with this requirement, is Twiki a good choice??? Thanks very much.

It looks like TWiki can serve your needs well. TWiki has fine grained access control where users can define permissions, see
TWikiAccessControl. TWiki started its life as a knowledge base for customer support, see example
Know web. TWiki is a platform where you can create your own applications. This Support web here is a good example of a knowledge base application. Feel free to copy and customize the guts of the Support web.
