Question
I've looked at
AttachContentPluginInstallFailure and made sure there was a /pub/_work_areas and it's r/w for the web process. Also double checked permissions and made sure everything was in the right place. Made sure that the Plugin is enabled as well (configure).
In the end, I'm trying to use the
PatternSkinColorSettings feature describe-- it sounds like a great way to perform minor tweaks to make subwebs look just slightly different than the mainweb (to help the user with a sense of place)
Bonus Question
Is there a way for a newbie user like myself to debug and figure out where these scripts are halting? There is no sign of work anywhere, so I am left wondering if there is a permissions thing, or a dependency or something else that I'm missing (like an arbitrary working directory path somewhere).

To what topic did you instruct the plugin to save?

I attempted to save it to the
WebPreferences in a sub-web. To be uberspecific: /twiki/Main/subweb/WebPreferences/MyPatternSkinColorSettings
As I tried to debug the situation, I also tried for 2 other places:
/twiki/Main/SubWeb/WebPreferences and
/twiki/Main/WebPreferences
None of them worked. Incidentally, the basic test found on the
InstalledPlugins page and going to the
AttachContentPlugin page also seemed to fail. It must be something pretty basic that I'm missing.
