Question

This is in the 2001 September 01 release. I installed a new TWiki, and I can edit normal pages, but there's something about TWikiRegistration that means I can't edit it.

Test case

  • go to TWikiRegistration
  • hit Edit
  • Insert a space, hit Preview Changes
  • You'll see an error: "Incorrect Wiki Name"

Environment

TWiki version: 01 Sep 2001
TWiki plugins:
Server OS:
Web server:
Perl version:
Client OS:
Web Browser:

Answer

This might have to do with the known problem that the form had JavaScript code with hardcoded special characters (i.e. ö) instead of escaped character names (i.e. ö). Get the latest topic content from TWikiRegistration at TWiki.org and try again.

Yes, if you delete that javascript I can edit the rest. I can't edit TWikiRegistration at TWiki.org, but I did show source and snipped out just the javascript line and I can now edit it.

Case closed.
