Question

I am almost ready to begin testing on my companies first TWiki. The only problem is I can not get mail working at all. I am following the instructions on Codev.TWikiVMDebianStable#Email_configuration, but I am having no luck. I followed the instructions for configuring MTA, but I never receive the test email. I am new to Linux so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease04x00x02
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin, MailContrib
Server OS: Debian 3.1
Web server: Apache
Perl version: 5.8.6
Client OS: Windows XP SP2
Web Browser: IE 7
Categories: Installation

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

I think you need to ask this question in a different forum. This forum is for questions relating to TWiki, not to setting up mail systems. Try one of the many Debian forums for help.

Alternativelty if you already have an SMTP host (e.g. the one that is set in the options of your mail tool) then just enter the name in the SMTPMAILHOST setting in configure and it should "just work".

Thanks for your input. Where do I find a Debian forum?
