Question

I'm right now (11:07 Feb 17 2006) looking at the TWiki.org website with FireFox 1.5.0.1 and instead of the left bar being on the left and the content on the right (as it looks in my TWiki install and in I.E.) I see the left bar on top and the content below. As of few days ago, everything looked just fine.

It also looks fine in my installation (TWiki version 02 Sep 2004 $Rev: 1742 $, Plugin API version 1.025)

Also, my account doesn't show up on the list of users but I swear I exist (see, when I pinch myself it hurts, OUCH!)

Environment

TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin

I got a report like this before from someone using FF 1.5. It turned out that firefox did not read all the style sheets. Try to reload the page. If that does not help, clear the browser cache.

Please report if this fixed / did not fix the problem.

Just confirming I've experienced this same little problem several times. Clearing the browser cache does fix it yet I'm left wondering what is causing the style sheets not to load.

Or possibly expire?

-- PeterThoeny - 17 Feb 2006

Clearing the cache worked. I pretty sure I tried that before and it didn't work. Maybe the same problem happened twice in row.

-- WayneDahl - 18 Feb 2006

Hold Shift and click the Reload button. This forces a complete refresh of the page, including style sheets. Worked for me.

You're right, how peculiar! I've been having this problem intermittently ever since upgrading from a Dakar beta version to 4.0.1. The 'force reload' workaraound is all I need to be happy again!

Linked to this from Support.FirefoxBrowserIssues.

Is there a Firefox bug logged against this issue? Would be useful to see if it's being worked on. MozillaBug: type Interwiki links can be used to link to such bugs.

I upgraded the layout and stylesheet of the TWiki.org homepage to the TWiki 4 format. This should fix the issue. Please let us know here if this is / is not the case.

I have just installed TWiki on a Mac and it looks fine in Safari but doesn not display correctly in Firefox or IE. I have tried deleting the cache and holding the shift button while reloading.....TWiki.org displays perfectly in Firefox and IE but not my own..... work anything else I can try
