Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

TWiki has an internationalisation feature, which can be enabled with bin/configure: In section Localisation, switch on UserInterfaceInternationalisation, and disable all languages you don't need (for performance reasons). Many "administrative" topics are available in German, though the documentation (TWiki web) is not.

See InternationalizationSupplement and InstallationWithI18N.

You will probably want to run in the ISO-8859-15 character set - so you would need to check that your Linux server has the right locale (covered in InstallationWithI18N). If you don't have this locale installed, see this Ubuntu tip on how to create the right one - probably this would be de_DE.ISO-8859-15 for Germany, or de_CH.ISO-8859-15 for Switzerland (the part after underscore is the country/region). Linux distros other than Ubuntu should be similar.
