Question

I have installed the Headline Plugin as described in the HeadlinePlugin? Page. I then tried to call the Plugin using

HeadlinesPlugin ERROR: 501 Protocol scheme 'https' is not supported (LWP::Protocol::https not installed)

I'm getting the following error.

Bad arg length for Socket::pack_sockaddr_in, length is 0, should be 4 at /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i686-linux/Socket.pm line 373.

What can be the reason? Did anyone face the same problem??/

Regards vamsi

Answer

Sounds like botched DNS - check that the machine you're installing on can do DNS lookups and access the outside world.

One way of checking would be to use INCLUDE to include a page and see if that succeeds what happens.

I can do DNS lookups from the machine and can access the outside world. Is it anything to do with my perl versio installed , I have perl5.8.0? I'm using MegaTwiki.

Thanks vamsi
