Question
Is there an existing web form or script out there that will let my users choose topics from a page and dynamically generate their own "book" table of contents (from existing topics in the twiki)? I looked at some of the plugins, but they didn't seem quite right for my needs. I'd still need to generate the TOC for my users by adding diffent tags to the topics.

Answer
Julie, I'm having trouble understanding exactly what you want to do. Are you saying that users will see a page listing some or all topics in a web? choose which ones they want to include, and create... a list of the subheadings of those chosen topics? A "book" that combines them into one document? Or select paragraphs from topics to insert elsewhere? Or select which subheadings get included in the table of contents at the top of the topic?
If you can give us more info about what you need, it'll be easier to answer your question.

A
FormattedSearch which used the
BookView output option might be a good place to start. Don't get scared off by the technical detail in the formatted search topic. For a quick and easy idea of how it might look go to
WebSearch, enter a phrase which you know will be common across the wanted topics, and select the
BookView checkbox.
