Question
I have a clean working installation using "
twiki-vm-debian-stable-4.0.4-default-01. The installtion page said that you can upgrade to 4.1x after getting 4.04 installed.
How is this done? I downloaded the 4.12 version that is non VM. Are the files simply copied to the Unix Environment?
I have done no customization becasue I wanted to start with the latest so I don't have to worry about backing up anything that is existing. Any help would be appreicated.

As a point of clarification I am using the VM installation because pretty much I can do Windows OS but not as familiar with Unix except for logon and basic functions. I was told to place the files in the current installation directory (which I think is the Unix VM) but to me this is like a fortress. I tried basic ftp but connection was refused. Is this best left to pay someone to start it off right for me or can a "Unix Dummy" do it? Books or links are also fine if someone would be able to point me.
Regards,
Dennis

Answer
If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.
The answer was, in Windows network neighborhood thename must be user and then the user password, not root.
This supposed one has tried to navigate to twiki-vm.
Further you must drill down under the root directory since thetwiki directory is a share. In my default installation this was found under \\twiki-vm\root\home\httpd\twiki Whil in windows you can see the share and work with it.. IF you try to navigate through unix it will not.
Thanks for all the hints in chat. I hope this helps. Also well, it could be WELL documented already in which case I just did not read the correct things here.
This is a great community.
PS. Of course in my case I simply copied and pasted from the twiki 4.12 zip file since I did not need anything I originally had. Also I had to switch from NAT to bridge and back after I restarted the VM. Regards -Dennis
