Question

I have just started using twiki and I have a basic question. I could not find it in FAQ or previously answered support questions. If it is already answered, please point me to the same.

When I use %INCLUDE{"page"} variable to include a topic in another one, how do I access allow the user to directly view or edit the included topic?

Consider for example the TWikiDocumentation -- it mostly consists of several include stmts such as:

%INCLUDE{"TWikiSystemRequirements"}%

However, as a user if I want to fix anything, I do not know that it is an included page unless I click on "edit" button. Then I have to look up the topic name, find the topic on the wiki and then edit its contents.

One approach to allow edits is to create an addtional page with links to included topic names. It would be nice if it was possible to display a view or an edit button/link just before any topic that has been included on another page. For example, the INCLUDE var could support new parameters such as showview or showedit as in Warning: Can't find topic page,showview=on}/ItwouldbeevenbetterifthisfeaturecanbemadeconfigurableunderWebPreferencesforallINCLUDEs/!--AutoSection/Support/HowToViewOrEditIncludePages/1/2-----Environmentaname=HowToViewOrEditIncludePagesedittable1.adivclass=editTableformname=HowToViewOrEditIncludePagesedittable1 ][edit]]=

to get this:

view, edit

Instead of the text labels you could use fancy TWikiDocGraphics, viewtopic.gif and edittopic.gif.
