Question

Is there any way to have WebNotify ignore a certain topic (eg by Setting a variable inside that topic)? That way one could eg have WebNotify not report changes to topic (like the WebNotify in the Support web itself when someone new signs up for WebNotify [I do not really care if someone signs up for it]).

Maybe that could even be expanded to have a way to specify parts of a topic in which changes are ignored:

 <!-- WEBNOTIFY START IGNORE-->

any change in this region will be ignored by WebNotify

 <!-- WEBNOTIFY START IGNORE-->

Answer

Maybe easier will be to list in WebNotify which pages I prefer to ignore. Like:

A combination would also be nice. The Topic writer could decide which parts of topics should be ignored, and a user could decide which topics to ignore in WebNotify. The user-specified method though does not allow ignoring only specific parts of a topic, but I think thatīs fine.

These are FeatureEnhancementRequests that should be discussed in the Codev web. EmailNotificationEnhancements lists all.
