Question

I have a large HTML page that I'd like to put into twiki. I see two options on how to do it:

1. Dump the HTML source into the Twiki edit window.

2. Convert HTML to Wikishorthand.

Idea 1 works (but for background colors and some empty lines), but I would miss all the advantages of wiki shorthand.

I would prefer 2, and it would not be hard to write a Perl script to convert simple HTML to shorthand. I have looked for such a script on the web, but cannot find one. Does one exist?

Thanks!

Answer

There are some tools to help with this, but I'm not sure how complete they are, and they may not be Perl based - see HtmlToTWikiConverter and AutoConvertAttachmentsToHtml and have a Google as well.
