Question

I thought it would be fun to include the contents of my offsite home page in my TWiki home page (i.e. within my Main.VickiBrown page). So, at the bottom of my TWiki home [page, I placed

%INCLUDE{"http://www.company.com/vlb/index.html"}%

The results were... unexpected.

The insertion of that line caused all formatting of all previous lines to go haywire. This looks like a bug to me... is there a workaround?

(btw, the test and the screenshot are taken from my Company installation of TWiki; when I tried to insert the same %INCLUDE% line here on twiki.org I received an error message:

ERROR: TWiki::Net::getUrl connect: Inappropriate ioctl for device. GET /vlb/index.html HTTP/1.0 Host: www.cfcl.com

Environment

TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: BSD
Web server: Apache

Answer

Not sure about your main problem but TWiki.org has some issues with doing %INCLUDE% to remote sites due to SourceForge.

The problem seems to crop up only if I add the INCLUDE to my TWiki "home" page (not if I pull it into a new topic).

Thanks for the response about why I get that error trying the same thing on twiki.org.

Possible cause: TWiki does not render anything inside HTML header. Could you check your included page to see if it conforms to HTML or XHTML?

Um... simple HTML, no DTD. Can you be more specific?
