Question

Hi

I have a query on TWiki Access Control

How will you provide Access to a Topic to individual Users? Here are few scenarios

1. User A creates a new Topic and wants to provide Read only Access only to User B 2. User A creates a new Topic and wants to provide Read only Access to the Topic to User B, User C, User D alone.

How can this be achieved within Twiki 4?

Your help much appreciated

Regards

Ram

Hi, the full details may be found in TWiki:TWiki.TWikiAccessControl but essentially for your examples:

1) User A puts SET ALLOWTOPICCHANGE = WikiNameA and SET ALLOWTOPICVIEW = WikiNameA, WikiNameB directives in the topic they wish to restrict access to.

2) The process here is the same as above except with more users. Essentially if an ALLOW directive is set then it is assumed that all users not listed in it are DENIED the given action. So for instance above if you set ALLOWTOPICVIEW as instructed all users who arent WikiNameA or WikiNameB are implicitly denied read access.
