Question

I am using TWiki as a project development management tool. This means that I need to be able to lock a file when it is downloaded, like editing, and unlock it when it is uploaded again. Of course this could be much fancier and become a full plugin but that is the basic functionality.

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease02Sep2004
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS:
Web server:
Perl version:
Client OS:
Web Browser:
Categories: Plugins, Add-Ons

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

What is your question?

The TWiki release you are using does not support topic locking, if that is what you are looking for. The next release supports advisory locking only. There is no way in any TWiki release to lock attachment files when they are downloaded.

Maybe there should be -- some day.

not for most installs, but its certainly something that could be written in a plugin (might be hard in cairo, but in Edin* it should be much more plausible)
