Question
I would like to move my TWiki Debian VM installation to another machine. I assume 2 simple steps:
1. Install VM player on the target machine.
2. Copy TWiki VM install folder to target machine.
Are these all the steps I need? Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Environment

Answer
If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.
It is as easy as that.
The only adjustments which are be necessary are those you might have done after starting your VM in the first place - e.g. IP address or DNS settings.

Harald, Thanks for the quick reply. From my questions you may identify that I'm a newbie.
Do you mean the settings that I did with the VM player? (i.e. bridged vs. NAT, etc) Cause I thought the rest of OS and apache settings and configurations (i.e. cron jobs, etc etc)are being saved within the VM virtual disk files.

Generally, the settings within the VM don't need to be touched at all - the only exception is if the VM is now at a new IP address (perhaps because the host server is on a different network), new hostname, etc. This depends on whether your TWiki VM will be accessible to other systems on your network, or is internal to your VMware host (usually a Windows PC, but could be any system that runs VMware, including Mac, Linux,
FreeBSD, etc.)
The VMWare Player or Server settings will need to be re-done on the new host server, e.g. Bridged vs NAT.
Nice to have a question that's easy to answer, for once! For more details, see
TWikiVMDebianStable, where I've updated the 'Going public' sections on how to use static IP address and create your own hostname, which may be relevant.
