.Here's my situation: I've been exploring options for creating web-based collaboration/project management system for grass-roots community development and see TWiki as one of, if not the most promising options out there. (The other one near top of list is Manila). I have a whole slew of questions to see if I can get Twiki to do what I need and suit the needs of my target community. I've spent quite a bit of time purusing the Twiki web and have been able to gleam some stuff but am a long way from getting the answers I need. Plus, it has not become clear to me where is the best place(s) to submit the questions I have.

So - one option that is attractive to me is to find someone who is willing to respond to a set of questions I would put to them. They might have simple answers for some questions (and thereby save me a lot of wandering around) or point me in a direction to get other answers. Partially, it's just a desire to develop some relatedness to one individual as opposed to taking on the whole collective network alone. The rich web of TWiki does appear a lot like a maze at times.

Also, I have some first impressions, suggestions for usability, etc. that may be useful for their "beginner's mind" quality - or they may be lame and obvious points that have been laid to rest long ago. Partially, I would like to get feedback and initial filtering and then suggestions in where would be the best place to submit these for further discussion.

Does this hold appeal to anyone? Does anyone feel that my situation may be shared by other newcomers?

Sure, go ahead and ask. I understand your frustration very well, I was TWiki newbie just couple months ago (and still I am).

For some quick tips, you may want to go to TWikiAdminCookBook. There is discussion about SimplerTWikiDistribution and SimplerDefaultTemplates at Codev web. And make sure you checked TWikiPresentations. Especially newest, simplified is worth looking at (IMHO).
