Question
Hello,
I am very new to this. I used twiki at my previous company and wanted to set this up at my new company. I followed the installation for Windows and have everything running and working fine. ie the first index.html comes up.
My question is where do I go from there ? Do I have to create every web page from scratch ? I looked everywhere for any help but I did not see any sample web pages where I can put my content ? Is there like a set of pages which I can use and then take it from there?
Is there something else I need to do. There is no documentation that says what you should do after installation ?How do I use those pretty templates etc?
Also I am little confused with Twiki itself. If this is a tool for information sharing why are users signing up to twiki.org ? What do I do by signing up and why are there sandboxes and webhomes on twiki.org? don't people download it and use at their respective locations?
I want to set up an intranet site in my company where my team can share information using twiki ?

Answer
I'm not sure if I can be of much help because I'm not sure I understood some of your questions. However, I'll try to offer a few suggestions to help you move ahead.
First, are you sure your installation is ready to go? The index.html will show up without TWiki being fully configured. Have you gone through the whole process described in
TWikiInstallationGuide, or in your case,
WindowsInstallCookbook? If yes, then congradulations! If not, well, you've got a ways to go.
Next, or even before you have your installation up and going, go through the entire
TWikiTutorial. This should get you fully familiarized with how TWiki works and
should answer some of the questions you mention above.
From there, there's several directions you could go. Depending on the size of your organization and how extensive you see you wiki becoming, you might want to add one or more custom webs. You might also check out
TWikiAdminCookBook. I think it may be a
bit outdated right now but has lots of useful ideas about developing your TWiki site.
Hope this helps and good luck!

TWiki is used to develop TWiki; that's what twiki.org is for.
You install twiki on your local webserver. TWiki comes with many default pages, including a Sandbox web where you can experiment.
Lynnwood has answered the rest of your questions, I think.
