Question

Hi All, I have installed the twiki and when I am creating a user I am getting the following error in the log of webserver.

"/usr/bin/rcs -i -t-none -ko %FILENAME|F% of .../Main/MustMatch.txt,v failed to create history file at /var/www/twiki/lib/TWiki/Store/RcsWrap.pm line 116. "

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease04x00x04
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: Linux
Web server: Apache
Perl version: 5.8
Client OS: Windows-2000
Web Browser: IE

Check the permissions of your data/Main directory. The user id under which your web server is running (varying with Linux distribution, e.g. wwwrun in SUSE) must have write access to the files in the directory, but also to the directory itself if it needs to create new files (like the ,v history files).

I gave all the permission to Main. apache is the owner of the entire directory of twiki. I still get the same issue.
