Question
Is there a possibility to comfortably switch back to an older revision. It's a bit annoying to view an older version in raw text mode, copy it, and then pasting it into the edit window of the latest version. I think
RCS provides better solutions which should be implemented into TWiki.
.
- TWiki version: don't know
- Web server: Apache
- Server OS: Sun Solaris
- Web browser: IE5.5
- Client OS: Windows 2000

Answer
Sure, better solution
does exist and it
is implemented in TWiki.
Click at
More link at page footer, you can
View previous topic revision, just enter version number in provided box, and click on
View Revision button.
You can also view page in raw format, in case you want to see source, and you are not allowed to
Edit the page. Just click checkbox
in raw format.

Further question
But now I can only
view the older version. How can I get rid of the newer ones? I mean the chosen old version should become the newest one and it should be possible to edit it.

Further question II
I think Hana got to the point. I can easily view any older revision, but there is no comfortable way to use to edit an older revision which becomes the newest afterwards.
Any solution?

I believe that this is supported in twiki, but it's not documented. Take a look at the end of lib/TWiki.cfg.
So, do remove the last revision
With NO way to get it back just edit the page, slap
?cmd=delRev to the end of the URL and kill it. Do this multiple times to back out multiple revisions. Again
This is dangerous!
Note, since this removes previous revisions, they're removed from the history. If you edit version 1.15 of a topic, the current revision will be 1.14, not 1.16. You will have
lost forever version 1.15. This is probably what you want, but I thought it needed to be pointed out.

I think that what is needed is a means to reinstate an old version as the newest version. That way the previous obsoleted versions remain in the history and everyone can see what happened.
This does not exist as a feature yet.
