Question

I've created a installation of Twiki on a Windows/Apache/cygwin setup. Everything seems to be working fine expect that Registration Authentication/Verification is failing for some reason.

What happens is a user registers on the site, they receive their verification email and there is an appropriate file in the RegistrationApprovals folder and the user can click on the link or copy the verification code from the email. Either of these actions directs them around to the login page without giving the user a confirmation of their registration or creating their user in the .htpasswd in the data folder or their profile entry. If they try their user name and password in the login box, it naturally fails.

I've been through all the permissions to the point where everything is currently completely open, but I would have expected an access denied error is this were the problem.

Frustratingly this was working on Friday and I have one admin user and one user user registered for myself by myself and I also got another user to register without any problems. I have no idea what has changed to cause this....

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Please give more detail, apache httpd.conf, physical file layout, twiki configuration.

Up front this sounds like a path problem with LocalSite.cfg to me.

Better to leave unanswered support questions open for 30 days to give people an apportunity to answer.

Sounds like a good idea to standardize on a timeframe for this stateshift. I will think of something for SupportGuidelines.
