Question

One of our users wanted to rename a TWiki page from XYZ to something more logical XaaaYbbbZcccc, using 'more topic actions' and 'rename topic'.

All instances of XYZ were changed but not only TWiki words.

Where XYZ appeared in any string or any anchor it was changed to the new topic name.

Is the rename check that what is being renamed is already a topic or is what I described normal

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease04x00x05
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: RH Linux
Web server: Apache
Perl version: 5.008
Client OS: Windows XP , Linux
Web Browser: IE Firefox
Categories: Fatal error

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

The rename is pretty all-encompassing; it just matches that word in all other topics. So if you call a topic "the" then you are likely to run into problems. What you describe is normal. Any contributions that improve the algorithm are of course very welcome!
