Question

I cannot figure out how to do step 2 in from the "Renaming or Deleting a Web" section of the Managing Webs doc. Step 2 says: "Edit the TWikiPreferences topic: Rename or delete the web from the WIKIWEBLIST variable."

When I edit the TWikiPreferences topic I see this:

 %WEBLIST{"[[$name.%HOMETOPIC%][$name]]" separator=" %SEP% "}%

I don't know where to redefine HOMETOPIC. I also wish it were easier to rename webs.

Note added later on: it appears that this step 2 is not needed. The variables get created on the fly. So maybe this step should be deleted from the documentation.

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

ManagingWebs is quite clear on this imho. Per standard TWikiPreferences has WIKIWEBLIST as a manually kept list that only lists the default shipped webs and should be kept in sync manually on additions/renames. Optionally the value can be replaced by the "automatic" WEBLIST.

If you have a suggestion on how to make this clearer, feel free to submit this to our bug tracker at Bugs:WebHome.
