Question

I've been playing with the latest 4.x twiki and RSS feeds.

Do you mind telling me how to connect to a rss feed which is read/write password protected?

I thought it would be something like http://user:pwd@site/WebRSS

I've set to the default login/password used on 4.x (ie, not apache password mechanism). Am I missing something here? Maybe with the default mechanism you can't login via the example above, and therefore can't connect via RSS readers in the same manner?

Environment

Server OS: Linux Gentoo
Web server: Apache 2.0.52
Perl version: 5.8.5

You could cache the RSS feeds. See CacheWebRssFeedForSpeed, HowToCacheRssFeedsWithRewriteRule.
