SID-00112: A new revision for attachments is not created always

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 4.2.3 Perl version:
Category: CategoryAttachments Server OS: Debian Linux Last update: 17 years ago

Hi,

Every time a file with the same name is uploaded to a topic a new revision of the attacchment is not created. I had this problem where the excel sheet with the same name is uploaded with a change in its content.

The actual problem here is the attachment table in the topic does not give us the latest revision of the file. But when we click on manage attachement link and see the version history and view the latest version we can see the latest file there.

Discussion and Answer

To create a new revision of a file is not enough to upload a new file with the same name. The right procedure is to click in manage attachment link of the file we want to update and and then to use the browse button to upload a new file over the previous, creating this way a new revision.
