SID-00204: Plugin installation error messager

When I install any plugin via on line , it will appear the below error message , May you help me ? thanks

Error: Installer returned errors: No data could be read from file at tools/extender.pl line 684 You may be able to resolve these errors and complete the installation from the command line, so I will leave the installed files where they are. Installation finished.

Did you add the binmode F; line to the script as indicated in TWikirev:17815 ?
