Is it possible to have a form where there are drop down choices for a field and once a choice is made, the rest of the form will automatically fill in with the information that matches in that database record.
Here is the project. I am creating a site that will collect folktales. With each new topic (folktale) there will be a form that sites the source. I may already have a number of sources in a database that are publications. So if a dropdown field had a number of authors and one was chosen, then the next field, say publication, would limit the number of choices to that author. But if the record was not already in, the contributor could fill out all the fields manually.
What I want to avoid is multiple entries of the same source that could occur if someone leaves out a word or misspells a name if all the input into the form is manually by each contributor. So as the collection of folktales grows, so would the database for sources.
I would then want to create a topic where all the sources would be listed like a bibliography.
