Hello, I'm trying to install the LDAPContrib module but I'm in a corporate intranet with proxy/authenticated access to the Internet, in a windows machine. But I'm not able to intall the dependencies.
The
LdapContrib _installer fails trying to connect to the Internet. Then I tried to install the dependencies manually but I didn't success. For the 1st one; Authen::SASL, when I try to execute the perl Makefile.PL it tries to get another one: GSSAPI, and of course fails again connecting somewhere. Then I try to get GSSAPI, and it, of course, needs more things and fails again: Searching krb5-config command... NOT FOUND! I have been reading some perl support sites, but I think I'm going to far and this is becoming to complex just for the first dependency of the first dependency of the module. I supose I miss something.
Well, my question is if there is a way to install all this packages precompiled or with a easier method, in Windows. I promise that I have searched all over the documentation and readed a lot of support entries, maybe I missed something. Or, there is a way to configure the scripts to connect to the internet using proxy, user and password.
The option to 'find more extensions' in the configure page has the same problem. Would be very nive otherwise.
Any clue or suggestion would be very helpfull. Thanks!

Discussion and Answer
Configuring LDAP can be challenging with all the dependencies, especially on Windows. Learn
HowToInstallCpanModules. Consider engaging one of the
TWikiConsultants or getting
TWIKI.NET's Certified TWiki Virtual Appliance distribution
, which can be easily installed on Windows.
BTW, I do not recommend Windows XP as a TWiki server for production use. If on Windows, go for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or 2008.

Ok, thank you. I will try with more time and dedication and I'll try to share the findings. To get additional support is also and option, but now we are just evaluating it to see if it can cover our requeriments, specially regarding some kind of LDAP autoregistration and workflow specific needs.
In the Windows XP box we are just testing to quickly evaluate the main requeriments, that's not even a server.
