SID-00649: Why are newline missing in comment?

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 4.3.2 Perl version:

In Commnet, when I click enter in keyboard to start a newline, it shows fine in comment edit table. After I click "add comment", each newline is replaced by a space! If I click "raw view", the newlines are there, but when I click "Edit", the newlines are replaced by spaces forever

I have tried all Comment types, all of them have this problem . for example: If I type a b c

I get a b c

HELP~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is HTML spec, and TWiki syntax is a super set of HTML. Personally I would also like to have newlines preserved, it is more intuitive. But we can't change the spec or we would break content in millions of pages.

Thank you for your concern, peter. Its seems to be a by-design problem. Ive figured out a method, if I type click "enter" twice, I will get 2 newlines....thats much better than no-newline. Could you give me some other work-around ?
