SID-00841: Modifying the search functionality

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 4.0.4 Perl version: 5
Category: CategorySearch Server OS: Debian Last update: 15 years ago

Hello,

I'm a new TWiki user and for the purposes of my project, I would need to tweek (no pun intended) the search capability that comes with TWiki in order to better suit my purposes. I am aware that TWiki is written in perl and so I would need to edit the perl files I am hosting that come with TWiki. Is this the correct way, and if so, where may I find these files? Thank you in advance.

Discussion and Answer

You did not specify what kind of modifications you need. Perhaps you can do all you need with a custom search page that has a %SEARCH{...}% embedded in it. For inspiration, see WebSearch.

There are also other Extensions:search integrations, such as the SearchEngineKinoSearchAddOn.
