SID-00848: Set and %IF in a WebTopicViewTemplate

Status: Unanswered Unanswered TWiki version: Perl version:
Category: Server OS: Last update: 15 years ago

I have a web on which I'd like the "missing" page (WebTopicViewTemplate) to try to look up in a database automatically.

I tried doing this:

  • Set THISVAR = %DATABASE_SQL{some_query}%

and later

%{IF "defined 'THISVAR'" then="IT's Defined"}

The puzzling thing is it's always defined when viewing WebTopicViewTemplate and never defined when viewing e.g. SomeUndefinedTopic (and I can see the Set and the value in the rendered page).

Hints?

Discussion and Answer

BTW I know I left off the final % on the if above... didn't leave it off in the real page.
