SID-00923: Dynamic Link based on client computer

Status: Unanswered Unanswered TWiki version: 5.0.0 Perl version:
Category: CategoryAutomation Server OS: cent0S and XP workstations Last update: 15 years ago

We use a voip system in the office and our software is web based. Each computer has a designated extension number that needs to be included in the hyperlinks to the software.

Is there a way for a page to know the workstation that is viewing and then code the workstation info into the hyperlinks?

Discussion and Answer

I was wondering if anyone had an idea to save a txt, html or xml file on a local client, and then have TWiki either load the file, or execute a script that would be on the local machine to get the parameters for the local machine.

Has anyone tried this?
