SID-00990: Delete Multiple Topics?
Hello,
I am trying to delete some 40+ user pages from my TWiki installation. Is it possible to do this in one run, or do I need to delete each and every topic by hand? Ideally I would like to do this via my shell...
Many thanks for any ideas,
Matthias

Discussion and Answer
Bulk handling of attachments is currently being discussed at
HideAttachments, bulk handling of pages is not yet planned.
TWiki is open source. I invite you to help define the spec (and implement?) bulk handling of pages. Start by proposing a feature with spec at
Codev.TWikiFeatureProposals.
For now you can mass-move/delete topics on the shell. Structure:
-
twiki/data/ -- root of pages
-
twiki/data/Sandbox/ -- sample web
-
twiki/data/Sandbox/TestPage1.txt & TestPage1.txt,v -- sample page with history in that web
-
twiki/data/Sandbox/TestPage2.txt & TestPage2.txt,v -- sample page with history in that web
-
twiki/data/Trash/ -- trash web
-
twiki/pub/ -- root of attachments
-
twiki/pub/Sandbox/ -- sample web
-
twiki/pub/Sandbox/TestPage1/ -- container for attachments for sample page (only exists if there are attachments on that page)
-
twiki/pub/Sandbox/TestPage1/image1.jpg & image1.jpg,v -- sample attachment in that page, with history
-
twiki/pub/Trash/ -- trash web for attachments
Move pages with its history file. Check if the page has attachments and move that if that is the case. To delete pages, move them to the Trash web (as well as its attachment directory if it exists).
