SID-01003: Insecure directory on linux this time

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 5.0.1 Perl version: 5.8.8
Category: CategoryError Server OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 (Tikanga) Last update: 15 years ago

Hi, I 've got this error message appear in my configuration panel:

Software error: Insecure directory in $ENV{PATH} while running with -T switch at /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/twiki5_dev/lib/TWiki/Configure/Checker.pm line 155.

I have seen solutions only for cygwin w2k but none for linux. I understand that it has to do with the file permissions in the twiki folder but I haven't changed them. Tryed with a different installation and the same happens. On my solaris server everything works fine although the versions I got there are 5.0 not 5.0.1, I rather think it has to do something with red hat linux enterprise's functionality, I had to disable suexec before for apache to work properly, I am new to this distro.

Discussion and Answer

What do you have in {SafeEnvPath} configure setting? Default is /bin:/usr/bin, it should contain valid system bin dirs only.

Yes that did the trick, thanks Peter
