SID-01135: Where is the Leftbar in default install 5.0.1?

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 5.0.1 Perl version: 5.8.9
Category: CategorySkin Server OS: FreeBSD Last update: 14 years ago

Everyone assumes it's just there in the documentation. I am using a default 5.0.1 install. It only has the top bar, but no left bar. If I include WebLeftBar, it shows that, then the content underneath it. Reading the template, I see the view.pattern.tmpl has the proper %TMPL:INCLUDE{"viewleftbar"}% entry. But it is not there and only documentation exists on how to hide it.

In TWikiPreferences, I explicitly created a "set SKIN = pattern" and leftbar was there. Apparently it defaults to topmenu skin.
