Hi
I renamed a web page and now it is gone.
The steps I did:
- clicked the web page from the sidebar
- click preferences from the sidebar
- clicked tools
- clicked "Rename/move/delete web..."
- enter a new name in the top box instead of the old name w/o changing the path
- click move/rename.
Next thing I know is that the web page I renamed is missing from the sidebar...
BTW I am not the IT administrator so I don't know how to check twiki version, Server OS etc..
I was hoping to sort it out w/o troubling the IT which are very busy and are not sympathetic to the wiki being open to layman like me
Please help.

Discussion and Answer
When you "Rename/move/delete web..." you are actually renaming a whole web, not a single topic (page) within a web.
The web link in the sidebar might be hard-coded, e.g. breaks when you rename a web.
To see all webs go to SiteMap in the TWiki web on your own TWiki.

Thanks Peter but that page is not in sitemap neither.
BTW I found out the wiki is version 4 dakar.

Based on your original description you renamed a
web, not a
topic (page).
The good news is that data is not lost. You might have renamed the web to below another web that is access restricted. Best to ask your TWiki admin to hunt down the web.

I was granted an admin privileges, can you suggest how I would go about "hunting down" that web?

See if it shows up in the SiteMenu. If not, ask your admin to examine the TWiki log files in
twiki/data, or to
find twiki/data | grep LostName.
