Hello, I tried to deploy twiki to the shared hosting provided by sourceforge.net for research only, and I added my domain name "arise.cn" to its Vhost. SF.net offers two directives, I placed the subdir and all the files of original /bin to /cgi-bin , /pub to /htdocs, and created /twiki with Winscp to host the other directives of Twiki. After I succeed in running the configure script, www.arise.cn/cgi-bin/view will automatically be redirected to
http://www.arise.cnnot%20setnot%20set/oops/Main/WebHome?template=oopsaccessdenied;def=no_such_web;param1=view;template=oopsaccessdenied;def=no_such_web;param1=view
I saw the above URL in chrome, I would see Page Not Found if using IE. The path setting are correct, /bin, /templates, /pub and /data are writable for server user.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Discussion and Answer
It looks like some settings are missing. Check this:
- Does
bin/localLib.cfg exist in folder where the view script is? Is it configured properly to point to the twiki/lib as an absolute path?
- In Configure, have you set at least these settings?
{DefaultUrlHost}, {PermittedRedirectHostUrls}, {ScriptUrlPath}, {PubUrlPath}, {PubDir}, {TemplateDir}, {DataDir}

My domain name is arise.cn, my account path on that server is /home/project-web/career, and I checked the environment variables, found the true DOCUMENT_ROOT is /var/www/html , if I place /pub inside /htdocs, therefore the {PubDir} should be /home/project-web/career/htdocs/pub , right? By the way, foswiki can be installed successfully, but Twiki can't. I prefer twiki rather than foswiki, am looking forward to your reply, thanks very much!

There is something wrong with your website in general. According to your setup,

should be a valid URL that shows a TWiki logo. Accessing any URL returns:
Connecting to arise.cn|60.28.193.153|:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 400 Bad Request. 2011-12-06 10:55:19 ERROR 400: Bad Request.
Check the permissions, some hosting sites are picky. For example, a directory set to 775 would not work, but 755 does.
Put a file in the htdocs directory and try to access it. Put a "hello world" cgi script into cgi-bin/bin to verify proper setup of your website.

Hello Peter, thanks for your kind reply. However, the problem hasn't been solved yet, if you have free time, you can log in my sourceforge project to check the point where the problems are. Please run Winscp and then input username "opencourse,campus" , password "51click" ,sign in to web.sourceforge.net. the configuration page is at
http://campus.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/configure
, Best regards!
