SID-01412: Change font size in TinyMCE

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 5.0.1 Perl version:
Category: CategoryPlugins Server OS: Ubuntu Last update: 14 years ago

We use TWiki in a digital learning environment that is designed to be usable from netbook devices with limited screen space. While it was no problem to adjust the editor size to our design, struggle to change the font size within the editor box to a smaller size or to reduce the width of lines in the editor. Currently, the editor box is not as wide as the page as displayed in the editor. You have to scroll sideways in order to reach the word wrap at the end of the line. How do I change that?

Discussion and Answer

The font style of TWiki's text area in edit mode is defined by twikiTextarea in file twiki/pub/TWiki05x01/PatternSkin/style.css.

Best to overload this the proper way, see PatternSkinCustomization.

Ideally you would do the font size conditionally based on user agent or user configuration.

Good luck with your project. Please consider contributing back to the open source TWiki community. You could package this as a new add-on, see ReadmeFirst.
