SID-01480: No icons on Twiki homepage

My problem: No icons are displayed at my Twiki WebHome. "http://localhost/twiki/view"

Trying to display:

Leads to the error message:

Not Found
The requested URL /twiki/pub/TWiki/TWikiDocGraphics/twiki-gray.gif was not found on this server.

I already read help topic: SID-01478: TWiki Home Page Display

But no solution. All paths seem to be fine.

Twiki.conf:

Alias /twiki/pub "C:/webdb/htdocs/twiki/pub"

LocalSite.cfg:

$TWiki::cfg{PubUrlPath} = '/twiki/pub';
$TWiki::cfg{PubDir} = 'C:/webdb/htdocs/twiki/pub';

Apache error log reports:

[Tue Jun 12 10:32:49 2012] [error] [client 10.240.1.1] script not found or unable to stat: C:/webdb/htdocs/twiki/bin/pub, referer: http://pst-server-01/twiki/view

I have no idea, what happens here.

Discussion and Answer

"script not found" is an indication that the pub dir is configured to be a cgi-bin directory. Make sure to configure it to be an html doc directory.

Fixed my issue by comparing path and alias in twiki.conf and LocalSite.cfg. ScriptAlias and ScriptUrlPath should be consistent:

twiki.conf:

ScriptAlias /twiki/bin "F:/webdb/htdocs/twiki/bin"
Alias /twiki/pub "F:/webdb/htdocs/twiki/pub"

LocalSite.cfg:

$TWiki::cfg{ScriptUrlPath} = '/twiki/bin';
$TWiki::cfg{PubUrlPath} = '/twiki/pub';
$TWiki::cfg{PubDir} = 'F:/webdb/htdocs/twiki/pub';

Now it works.

Instead of '/twiki/bin' for ScriptAlias and {ScriptUrlPath} I recommend a shorter '/do', this makes URLs shorter and more intuitive (/do/view/..., /do/edit/..., etc. )

heads up: SteffenFrank's Answer here works. However, wrong values are created by "do/configure" on my site that I just setup:

LocalSite.cfg contents was automatically configured to:

$TWiki::cfg{ScriptUrlPath} = '/do'; # SHOULD have been /twiki/bin - Seems to be using the alias from twiki.conf, while apache needs absolute dir (?).
$TWiki::cfg{PubUrlPath} = '/pub'; # SHOULD have been /twiki/pub - Seems to be using the alias from twiki.conf, while apache needs absolute dir (?).
$TWiki::cfg{PubDir} = '/var/www/html/twiki/pub'; # CORRECT 

after setting the two first paths it works here too Looking forward to testing a bit
