SID-01514: ScriptAlias alternative

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 5.1.1 Perl version: 5.10.1
Category: CategoryAttachments Server OS: Linux 2.6.32 Last update: 13 years ago

Hi Developers and fellow users,

I am trying to setup my site to secure file attachments per below: TWiki:TWiki.TWikiAccessControl#Securing_File_Attachments

However, my webhost forbids the ScriptAlias command. Is there an alternative?

Thanks, Lawrence

Discussion and Answer

No good alternative to secure attachments.

You could however user Apache login instead of template login, restricting access to the whole twiki/bin and twiki/pub. That means, you need to login to see any content or access any attachment. Disadvantage of Apache login is that there is no logout besides restarting the browser.
