SID-01611: Comment Plugin installed but the box does not appear.

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: Perl version:
Category: CommentPlugin Server OS: Last update: 12 years ago

Looking for some GURU help here.

I have installed the CommentPlugin. And whats happening is that the box will not show up even with all default settings. Any reason why this would happen? The Plugin is not disabled on DisabledPlugins. Also it shows up as an ActivePlugin and it is enabled in configure.

Discussion and Answer

Another thing to add is that on CommentPluginExamples all those examples are not working either.

In the error logs I see this: Could not read template file 'comments'

This is probalby the problem...but Not sure why it can't read the file. For example I installed Calendar plugin and it just worked by using: <verbatim> %CALENDAR% </verbatim>

This plugin is pre-installed, any reason to upgrade?

In any case, make sure you have twiki/templates/comments.tmpl and that it is readable by your webserver user. That file is found in the CommentPlugin.zip= file.

Ya its in templates. And this is the only error in terms of templates go within /templates. It really makes no sense to me.

The only reason why I said I installed it is because it never worked from the beginning, and through configure I re-installed it several times. This is the only tmplate thats showing up in error log as not readable. Its just boggling my mind right now. :S
