I am upgrading from 4.1 to 5.1.3 I installed the backuprestore plugin and made a backup of the 4.1 server and placed it in the /tmp directory of the new server. However the backup/recover console does not recognize the file.
If I make a backup on the new server is shows up oin the backup/restore console just fine.
Is there a special proceedure that has to be followed when copying the backup file to the new server?
Thanks,
Lewis

Discussion and Answer
Double-check to see if you put the backup into the right location as specified by the
{Plugins}{BackupRestorePlugin}{BackupDir} configure setting.
Make sure the zip file is readable by the webserver user.

I checked the config and it is pointing to /tmp. If I create a new backup and it places it in /tmp and shows up fine.
I also changed the permissions on the file to be the same as the ones generated on the new server (owned by apache) but no luck.

Obviously you used the latest
BackupRestorePlugin on your old TWiki-4.1 to generate the backup, right?
Does the file name match, e.g.
twiki-backup-NNNN-NN-NN-NN-NN.zip pattern?

I just pulled the plugin using the configure/Plugins/Find More Plugins. It is rev 24764
Yes, the file name matches that format.

No luck yet. I tried changing the backup directory to another location & copied all the files to the new location. I did this in the Extentions section. I made sure that the owner and the file permissions were the same as the original location.
From within the Backup & Restore console I now get "ERROR: Can't open the backup directory - Permissioned denied"
I have since changed back to /tmp, but still can't see anything except backups generated by the new server.
I'm clearly missing something. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
