SID-01640: Store no. of attachments in a variable

I need to count the attachments in a SUBTOPIC and store the value in a variable. If the calculated variable is more than 0 (means that there is at least one attachment in that subtopic) then I need to display a green led in the PARENT TOPIC (not inside the same subtopic). Plz help me in this.
