SID-01841: problem with scriptsuffix, e.g., to sort a table

Status: Unanswered Unanswered TWiki version: 6.0.0 Perl version: 5.010001
Category: CategoryPlugins Server OS: ubuntu Last update: 10 years ago

hello, I have to use the suffix .cgi for all scripts. I set the ScriptSuffix to .cgi in the configure script, but I find that not all plugins/extensions seem to append the suffix to the links that can be used when visualizing a page. example: when I create a simple table, e.g.,

Region: Sales:
Americas 732
Europe 611
Asia 228
Total: %CALC{$SUM($ABOVE())}%

when the table is shown, and I try to sort the table columns by clicking on the top row, I get http://hostname/cgi-bin/view/Main/WebHome?sortcol=1;table=1;up=0#sorted_table so, the visualizer does not append the .cgi to the script name... any idea how to solve this sort of problem generically? I dug into the source code of many plugins and find several locations where the scriptsuffix is not appended to the scripturl... so, the plugin responsible for sorting a table is not the only occurrence of this problem...

thanks for your feedback, d.

Discussion and Answer

a simple way to solve this issue would be to do a search/replace of ScriptUrlPath/whatever that does not end with .cgi into ScriptUrlPath/whatever.cgi, but where should I put this rewriter to capture all visualized links?

thanks, d.

minor improvement: a search/replace of ScriptUrlPath/whatever that does not end with ScriptSuffix should be replaced with a string with the appended ScriptSuffix, so we would get: {ScriptUrlPath}/whatever{ScriptSuffix}.
