SID-01906: Create user and approve without any email

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: Perl version:
Category: CategoryRegistration Server OS: Last update: 11 years ago

Hi, just did a fresh install of twiki in linux.

I'm trying to create an admin user.

But would like to avoid having an email sent for registration and would like to avoid requiring users to have an email address.

I'm hoping to create and run this twiki for a very small select group of people (6 max).

Is there a way to manually validate a user after they have registered?

Discussion and Answer

Please register with your real name, or if you prefer you can log in anonymously as TWikiGuest with password guest.

Since you have so few users you can register them ahead of time. If you do not want to bother them with e-mails you can specify your own e-mail address, then change that back to their e-mail address after registration. Please note that users can watch pages of interest to get notified of changes by e-mail. For this it is useful to have proper e-mail addresses.
