SID-02188: TWiki Registration Questions: Email Confirmation

Hi,

I've created a new site: cmthelp.com, and some "dummy" users to test registration and other things.

When I have a dummy user register, I thought that an email is supposed to be generated and sent to the user. I have not ever seen this work properly. In fact, when user registers, they are immediately taken to a login screen where—if they enter the login information they just used—they get an "access change" error message, which I don't understand at all.

Can anyone please clarify how this should be done? I'm going to need folks to register, and I need this to work.

Set configure setting {Register}{NeedVerification} to 1 to require confirmation of e-mail address.

Also, if you set read access restriction for webs, users are prompted to login.

I'm not sure how I'd set (or unset) read access restrictions...
