Where do I find the translation table for the MAKETEXT-function and how can I add translations?

Discussion and Answer

The files are in the directory locale of your installation. These are plaintext *.po files as required by the maketext environment: Careful editing them is possible (just be sure to have a backup if something goes horribly wrong). The lines following msgid is what's in your MAKETEXT, and lines following msgstr are the translations.

I admit that I've never tried that, though.

If you find problems with the documentation or translations we invite you to fix it and contribute back to the community. For documentation, edit topics on TWiki.org in the TWiki web directly. For language files, raise an item in the TWikibug:WebHome web.
