When running Main.SiteStatistics via the "Update now" link on that topic, the error message ("ERROR: Code 400: Incomplete headers") is displayed. Here is the resulting page, with a few items changed to protect confidentiality:

Not sure. Are you running TWiki with an accelerator such as fastcgi? The webserver might time out and not get the response soon enough.

No. We are not running
FastCGI, but it did get me to dig into it a bit deeper. In doing so, we discovered a corrupted (or possibly very old) version of HTTP::Response. Re-installing it made the error go away.
