Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

You need to make a small template change. See I want to hide the left bar. For general template instructions see the top of that page.

I added the following line and attached hideleftbar.css to the WebPreferences page. Now the webleft is disabled just when I view the WebPreferences page. I would like the webleftbar disabled for all pages in this particular web (but not the whole twiki site). * Set USERSTYLEURL = https://twiki.org/p/pub/Support/TurnOffWebLeftBar/hideleftbar.css

ugg. I added this line:

* Set USERSTYLEURL = https://twiki.org/p/pub/Support/TurnOffWebLeftBar/hideleftbar.css

Does it work for you now?

-- ArthurClemens - 16 Oct 2007

No. I've tried a bunch of things and can't get it to work. - I put '* Set USERSTYLEURL = ...' as the 1st line of WebHome and it just shows up as a bullet on the page - I put it in WebPreferences as the 1st line under 'Web Preferences Settings' and the left bar is only disabled for WebPreferences

PatternSkinCssCookbookNoLeftBar shows the CSS way of hiding the left bar. See PatternSkinCssCookbook: Adding to existing CSS for general instructions using CSS.

To hide the left bar I would choose the template way, because that will not load the left bar at all (as opposed to CSS that will load the left bar but hide it from view).
